Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome you and your children to Feinstein School for the beginning of another school year. There are several things I wanted to remind you about for the year. I am very concerned about the safety of the children. Parents park in the bank parking lot and have their children cross the street anywhere. I am very worried that a car will hit a child. To avoid this, I am going to insist that the children walk up to the corner at Broad Street and cross there. Do not tell your child to cross the street at the wrong place, please. I will stop them from doing it. There is no parking on Jenks Street. There were many parents who blocked the street and this is not a safe thing for the children.
School will start for at 8:15. All children will be dismissed at 2:15. Breakfast begins at 7:50 and ends at 8:10. Students will be counted as being late if they are not here at 8:15. If an older child is going to bring a younger child to school, please be sure they get them here on time.
No one should be at school before 7:50. Last year some children were here at 7:15! There is no one here to watch them at that time. Do not send the children early.
If your child is sick and will not be in school please call the school and tell us. When they return to school they need a note explaining why they were out.
All children now receive free lunch. But, we are still asking you to fill out the lunch forms. It is very important that you fill the form out and return it to school. The school district is required by federal law to have those applications on file. Every classroom that has 100% of the applications returned will have a pizza party.
On days when it rains, the children may come into the school and sit in the cafeteria quietly.
Please do not let your children bring toys or trading cards to school. They cause many problems when the children give them away and then decide they want them back. They may be taken away from the children.
Our secretary’s name is Mrs. Bannon. She is very pleasant and willing to help. If you have any questions, please call. If you wish to speak to your child’s teacher, she will get the message to them or help you set up an appointment to see them.
Parents are a very important part of a successful school year. We look forward to working with you and your children this year.
Sincerely,
Maureen Azar
