Square Mile
Square Mile is a transitional, alternative learning program used to help students succeed in the Central Falls school community. All classes promote positive social interaction and academic success by an implemented level system that assists and promotes these values for educational and community success.
The Square Mile program is currently located at 43 Hawes Street, Central Falls (former YWCA building).
Information on the Level System
Within our level system, there are specific goals for advancement. As students are able to display self management skills, positive social interactions, and academic achievement, they are able to earn desirable incentives as they proceed through the level system.
There are four main goals of a level system:
1) Increasing positive behavior
2) Promoting academic achievement
3) Encouraging a student to improve self-control
4) Developing personal responsibility for emotional and academic performance
Square Mile High’s Level System
Students are presented with weekly point charts that record earned points that are displayed throughout the day. The more often they display positive behaviors, the more points a student can earn. Each student has a tailored, specific chart that helps meet their needs.
